Prosthodontics is the dental specialty pertaining to the diagnosis , treatment planning , rehabilitation and maintenance of the oral function , comfort, appearance and health of patients with missing or deficient teeth and/or oral and maxillofacial tissues using biocompatible substitutes. The department is located on the first floor and which is widely spread in the entire floor which consists of preclinical laboratory with a capacity of 100 students. The clinical section is well positioned with good light and ventilation and has got a separate fully fledged sterilization area according to the infection control protocol. The ceramic laboratory boasts state of the art equipment’s for fabrication of all ceramic restorations, flexible dentures and precision attachments.
Department of Implantology
This emerging super speciality in Dentistry functions as an independent department having specialists from co specialties. The implantology department provides permanent replacements for prematurely lost teeth. It is fully equipped with latest implant surgical kits, physio dispenser and advanced surgical equipments.

Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Microbiology
The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Microbiology is catering to diagnostic services for all the Departments in the college, other hospitals and private practitioners as well. The Department has got a well-equipped histopathology laboratory for the tissue processing and staining of the biopsy & cytology specimens. The laboratory is also resourced with instruments needed for blood examination. The Department consists of a research microscope room, which is equipped with an advanced research microscope attached with CCTV camera & a computer for reporting the slides. Microwave antigen retrieval and other advanced procedures are also available. Immunohisto chemical analysis,fluorescence microscopy, stereomicroscopy, colorimetric analysis and state of art binocular microscopes are available for accurate diagnosis and research procedures.
A basic knowledge of the tissue biology is needed for 1st year BDS in the subject of Oral Histology. Molecular biology is also essential for understanding embryogenesis & development, cell function & tissues formation. The department also deals with the subject of Oral Pathology, wherein the 2nd and 3rd BDS students are made to understand the various disease processes. The students are trained in histological diagnosis of various lesions associated with oral cavity.
Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
The department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery provides diagnosis, surgical treatment and management of surgical problems of face, jaws and mouth. The department is involved in training and practicing oral and maxillofacial surgery. The department also offers post graduate program in oral and maxillofacial surgery preparing the candidate for a fulfilling career in this branch. Our department facilitates innovation, collaboration and free interaction for global development of students, faculty and maxillofacial surgery. The department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery offers highly qualified and well experienced faculty and other various facilities like Sterilization room, Minor OT, Recovery room, Seminar room, Major OT associated with Hospital, PG room, Department Library and Lockers in PG room.-
As part of the undergraduate training, the department of oral and maxillofacial surgery imparts both theoretical knowledge and clinical learning through an integrated programme consisting of interactive lectures, seminars, presentations, demonstration and hands-on experience, Clinical skills are developed through chair side discussions and supervised clinical work on patients.
Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontic
The Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics deals with diagnosis, treatment planning and prognosis of defects of teeth that result in restoration of proper tooth form, function and esthetics. Endodontics is branch that focuses on morphology, physiology, and pathology of human dental pulp and periapical tissues. To impart the highest quality of education to students and shape them to be good professionals and also provide high quality treatment using state-of-the-art instruments and equipments.

Department of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics
ORTHODONTICS & DENTOFACIAL ORTHOPEDICS is a branch of dentistry, which is concerned with the treatment and correction of facial, in particular dental & it’s supporting hard and soft tissues.In our department we have been advocating orthodontic treatment with the state of art material. We are practicing fixed orthodontics, using the MBT, BEGG and the tip edge technique. We are also using modern temporary anchorage devices. We are extensively treating our patients with the latest myofunctional appliances as well as using fixed functional appliances like the Forsus etc. We are inculcating to our under graduate students the importance of orthodontic treatment using the best teaching aids available.
Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology
The Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology deals with Clinical examination, Diagnosis and Medicinal Management of the patient coming to the institute & referral to the specific dental departments as per the dental treatment required. Our Under Graduate (BDS) program starts with the third year. The students are trained in the art of history taking, diagnosis of oral & maxillofacial diseases and radiology. The department of oral medicine and radiology is equipped with latest diagnostic tools including Punch Biopsy, Vital Stains, Sialography Kit, Digital And Conventional Imaging Modalities.
Department of Public Helath Dentistry
Public health dentistry is a holistic subject erected on the foundation of epidemiology, biostatistics, preventive dentistry, social sciences and health administration. This subject has pioneered the pragmatic thinking in oral health promotion. Comprehensive and incremental dental care has been the force behind affordable yet quality care among individual and target populations in the community. This subject has paved its way for the fundamentals of research and its applications in dentistry. The emphasis on outreach program to the unreachable population shows the concept of not only reducing oral disease but positive oral health among all. This department stands on the mantra of “ORAL HEALTH FOR ALL”. The department is catering a wide array of subjects for oral health promotion, preventive and therapeutic treatment of oral diseases in clinic as well as in community setting for people in the rural areas through various satellite centers and schools. The department prepares wholesome and complete students to deal with clinical as well as the community dental practice from pediatric to geriatric patients. Research is inculcated in students with various surveys and studies. Sense of obligation towards the community is aroused by rural postings, oral health camps, primary health centre’s, community health centers, satellite centers etc.
In clinic as well as in community tobacco counseling and oral health education is very much part of the day to day practice. In this department exposure to national health programs and planning is a part of the curriculum. An oral health museum for best understanding of oral health to people has been set up. All the national health days are observed for the benefit of student and people.
Department of Periodontics
Periodontics is the study of periodontal disease (also known as gum disease), its effects and treatment. The word comes from the Latin word peri meaning around and the Greek word odous meaning tooth. Literally taken, it means study of that which is “around the tooth”. Periodontology is one of the eight dental specialties recognized by the DENTAL COUNCIL OF INDIA. It is an entire branch of dentistry dedicated to studying the soft tissues and bone supporting the teeth, researching new techniques for treating periodontal diseases, and replacing teeth lost to periodontal disease with dental implants.
Periodontists are dental specialists who are experts in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases affecting the gums and supporting structures of the teeth.
Department of Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry

Pediatric dentistry is an age specific speciality that provides oral health care for infants, children and adolescents. A pediatric dentist knows how to deal with the behavioural aspects of children, how to make them comfortable and to make the experience pleasant.
